Oor Wullie’s Big Bucket Trail

Oor Wullie’s Big Bucket Trail

In the summer of 2019, 200 life-sized sculptures of Scotland’s favourite son, Oor Wullie, will take to the streets of Scotland’s five main cities for an 11 week mass participation public art trail. Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity, Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity and The ARCHIE Foundation (Scotland’s three children’s hospital charities) are the benefitting charity partners, working with DC Thomson and Wild in Art to deliver the event.

Hitting the streets on Monday 17 June and running right through until Friday 30 August, the Edinburgh trail will be made up of 60 spectacularly and individually designed Oor Wullie sculptures and we are inviting everyone in the city across the summer to download the free mobile phone app, pick up a trail map and become a tourist in their city/country for the summer to find all the Oor Wullie sculptures. This event is going to be the largest that the world has ever seen; we are hoping to set a Guinness World Record! It’s a brilliant, fun, family-friendly event and a fantastic way to spend a summer, all whilst raising awareness and funds for children and young people in hospital and healthcare settings across Scotland.
